The Museum of History and Ethnography is founded by Teodora Birsan, a former Russian language teacher at the "Vasile Anestiade" Theoretical High School in the locality. The museum is located within the House of Culture and reproduces the history and cultural heritage of the locality. The museum has a collection of carpets, which were collected over the years and which were woven by women from Sarateni, who left, as a legacy, the tradition of weaving, but also the carpet, with all its hidden secrets. The folk costumes exhibited are specific to the area. The museum has a collection of icons, from the end of the 19 th century – beginning of the 20 th century XX, from the interwar period.
