„Antioh Cantemir” Pinacoteca is an art gallery in the municipality of Bălți, which houses a variety of artistic compositions.
From its inauguration until 1983, the given institution was located in the premises of the Municipal Palace of Culture. In 1983, the gallery was transferred to the ground floor of a residential building, at 10A Independenței str., where it is still located.
        In September 2008, the Bălți Municipal Council decided to give the gallery the name of Antioh Cantemir, a proposal previously launched by the „Moldova and Russia” Association and the Russian Community of Bălți.
        The main purpose of the art gallery is to keep, share to the public, receive visitors and present to them the value and importance of each art object. Contemporary art meets modern and abstract art, oil painting on canvas, cardboard, paper, sculpture, drawing and graphics, author's and mixed techniques, craft objects. For every creator of contemporary art - painter, sculptor or folk craftsman - it is necessary for his work to reach as large an audience as possible, to be appreciated, even criticized, the goal of these talented people being to share with others the feelings expressed through another way than verbal. This communication of the artist with the public is done through the art gallery, where the artistic works are exhibited.
        Special attention is paid to the promotion of young talents. Thus, the exhibitions of the students from the fine arts schools in the municipality of Bălți and the north of the republic, as well as the young artists, are organized annually.
        Periodically, chamber concerts are organized. Thanks to the acoustics of the exhibition hall, the musical instruments and the voices of the performers sound much more expressive. In the same way, meetings of creative people, creative workshops with the participation of popular painters or craftsmen from the municipality are organized.
