Before technology simplified our daily calculations, people used the ingenious abacus – a seemingly simple object, but full of charm and history. With its help, basic arithmetic operations were performed – additions, subtractions and even multiplications – in a visual and intuitive manner, based on the movement of wooden balls on metal rods. The abacus was found in households, in commerce, but also in schools, being an indispensable tool of the pre-digital era. In addition to its practical role, it also had a great educational value, contributing to the formation of children's logical thinking.
