The Museum of History, Ethnography and Art in Cimislia was officially inaugurated on January 16, 2014 and is the only museum with district status in the Republic of Moldova, with an art profile. During the almost eight years of activity, partnerships were established with similar institutions in the country, such as: the Museum of History and Ethnography in Soroca, the Museum of History and Ethnography in Leova. In 2015, the Museum began cooperation with the National Archaeological Agency, with the start of archaeological research on the territory of the Cimislia district. The discovered heritage pieces, after their research and conservation by archaeologists, were passed on to the museum's heritage. In 2020, following the financing by the Prahova County Council, Romania, the reconstruction of a building was initiated, in which the Museum's funds and storage spaces will be arranged, with approximately 150 square meters.
There is a lasting partnership between the museum and educational institutions in the town and the district, as a whole. Fine art exhibitions of authors from various countries of the world are permanently opened: Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Israel, Poland, etc.
Based on the collaboration agreements of the Cimislia district with the counties of Prahova, Dolj, Vaslui and Iasi, various joint Moldovan-Romanian activities are carried out: exhibitions, creative camps, summer schools, etc.
